Simulate and Test Workflows
Check the graph, then verify a controlled published run.
Use Test workflow in the builder to simulate the draft. The simulation checks the path and provides sample results; it does not send messages or change records.
Simulate the draft
- Open the workflow and select Test workflow.
- Review the simulated steps, branch decisions, and available context.
- Correct missing configuration and disconnected paths.
- Repeat after changing a condition, action, or variable.
Sample results do not prove that a provider connection works or that a real record has the required data.
Verify a real run
Save and publish the intended version before using a manual run, schedule, or webhook. These execute the published version, not unsaved edits.
Use a controlled record and intended recipients for the first run. A real run can create records, send messages, and change statuses. Open its run detail and inspect step outputs and the resulting records.
For an event trigger, publishing makes the workflow eligible for matching events. Configure its filters before publication so the first run has the intended scope.
Investigate differences
If simulation succeeds but execution fails, inspect the failed step, required fields, permissions, and connected service. Check for completed actions before retrying so you do not duplicate a message or record.
